If you claim to cut the best fresh fries than you must expect it to be fried in the best oil available! That’s why ‘Tiger fries’ has developed its own ‘Tiger oil’. This oil has a unique compound of high- oleic sunflower oil and rapeseed oil with antioxidants. High-oleic is more exclusive in price as well but in the end more durable. Because of its high refining characteristics, it has a longer lifespan and is therefore cheaper in overall-usage than regular deep-frying oil.
High-oleic oil contains a high percentage (>80%) mono-unsaturated Omega 9 fatty acids, is low in saturated fatty acids and doesn’t contain any trans fats. It lowers the unhealthy LDL cholesterol and increases the healthier HDL cholesterol. Standard deep-frying oil usually contains E900 as an anti-foaming agent, which has its origins in the petroleum industry. E900 can contain residues of asbestos and formaldehyde. That’s why we choose for a natural foaming agent in our oil: antioxidants and citric acid as a preservative. The antioxidant in our oil exists from tocopherol; this is a fat soluble vitamin: Vitamin E. Citric Acid has an E mark (E330) with conserving and antioxidant strengthening characteristics. Tests have shown through diligent use of ‘Tiger oil’ that these antioxidants extends the oils shelve life to almost 100%. Daily filtering is advised strongly to contribute to its lifespan.
Our recommendations for the frying temperature are a maximum of 175 degrees Celsius. On higher temperatures the values of the unhealthy acrylamide rise beyond the accepted values. This accounts for frying in general with all deep-frying oils. Acrylamide exists in all pre fried fries but is far less found in fresh fries.
‘Tiger oil’ comes in a 15 litre “bag in box” packaging. The cardboard outside has a FSC quality mark, where the inner packaging is made of a fully recyclable ‘plastic’. Our oil is exclusively produced in Europe, a conscious choice to deliver a more durable product
